They are manufactured using a variety of special processing methods, including surface phosphating, blasting, inserting, and spraying. Spherical plain bearings offer high load capacity, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, self-aligning, and excellent lubrication. Their structure is simpler than that of rolling bearings, consisting primarily of an inner ring with an outer spherical surface and an outer ring with an inner spherical surface.

Spherical plain bearings are widely used in hydraulic cylinders, forging machines, construction machinery, automation equipment, automotive shock absorbers, and hydraulic machinery. Because their spherical sliding contact area is large and their tilt angles are steep, and because most spherical plain bearings undergo special treatments such as phosphating, galvanizing, or chrome plating, or external sliding surface lining, gasketing, or spray coating, they offer high load capacity and impact resistance.
